Listening is the glue that holds relationships together.

We may think we have been listening well to our colleagues, staff, and family members but have we been giving 100% attention?

Trinidad Hunt, in her Inspiring Leadership for Women Program, states that “Listening is the glue that holds relationships together” Her model of listening is based on a Chinese symbol through which she challenges us to listen with full attention, with our eyes, ears and hearts focused on the speaker.

Listening is one of the most powerful positive agents for change. All of us feel respected and cared about when we are truly listened to. By focusing on our listening skills in practice we begin to learn more about ourselves as listeners.

Listening is a skill that we will continue to work on all our lives.
